My primary passion and mission is locally grown flowers. I believe that there is so much beauty right here in San Diego, and I guarantee that 100% of the blooms that I work with are grown in SD county. In my garden, I try to limit the amount of plastic waste (always a work in progress!) and I utilize organic practices. My garden is a refuge for pollinators and plant lovers alike!
Aside from my commitment to locally grown, my designs are always foam free, and I aim to create as little waste as possible.
My garden is my inspiration. My designs are lightly whimsical, organic, and full of garden treasures.
Every year more and more of my flowers are sourced directly from my cutting garden. Anything that I don't grow I source from a handful of incredibly talented flower farmers. If you are interested in learning more, please follow me on my instagram. I gush about my farmer friends in my stories often!
Most wholesale flowers are sourced internationally, largely from growers in South America. While beautiful, they carry an enormous carbon footprint, and are grown to be transported. In my opinion, they lose their magic in the process (and often their scent!). Locally grown flowers on the other hand, are not just better for the planet, but they are intentional, unique and lovingly grown. The flowers are picked just a couple of days before an event, and so they smell amazing, they are wonderfully fresh, and they tell a story.
If you have a super specific vision with very specific flower preferences, Front Yard Florals may not be a good fit for you. Because all of my flowers are locally grown, I do not have access to off season flowers or flowers that do not grow well in our climate. During the consultation process, I will walk you through which types of flowers are available during your wedding, and as long as some flexibility exists, we can create true magic together.
I grow dozens of varieties each year and try to have a wide range of colors and styles of flowers in my garden at all times to accommodate all of your various color palettes! Some examples of flowers I grow are: Ranunculus, Zinnias, Dahlias, Scabiosa, Cosmos, Corn Cockle, Feverfew, Daffodils, Stock, Delphinium & of course my prized Garden Roses!
For full service weddings booked at least 6 months out, you cane a part of my garden planning process. Prior to planting my garden, I will send you a garden consult file which will lay out the flowers that I am planning on growing for your wedding. You can then select which flowers you love and which flowers you can do without, to ensure your vision is achieved. As your flowers sprout and grow, I will send progress updates so you can watch your flower babies turn into teenagers and then full blown adult blooming machines!
I recommend booking 9-12 months before your wedding date. I take on a limited number of weddings per year. Simple elopement packages (personals only) can be booked up to 1 month out.
To put it simply, there aren't enough flowers! My off season is November- February, which is my garden's hibernation and rejuvenation season. During these months, I am still incredibly busy prepping my beds and planting spring flowers. With that being said, I always have something blooming, so if you are interested in either a greenery heavy design or a small order (such as an elopement package) during these months, please feel free to reach out!
I offer a variety of options to ensure that locally grown flowers are available to couples on any budget. While my full service weddings require a $3000 minimum, my a la carte service has no minimum and I do offer partial set up options for a la carte weddings.
Front Yard Florals is available for other events, but my calendar does book up pretty far in advance- always feel free to reach out and ask!
